Development Leader

Job Description:

Work closely with the Architecture team to have a project break down tasks ready for development.

May need to lead or work on different projects simultaneously based on the size and complexity of the technical requirements.

Develop new features, customizations, and enhancements to the core product/platform during a project.

Work with project manager, business analyst and/or business to scope work, produce estimates and help define deliverables.

As project technical lead, help manage workload and task assignment with solution development team leader.

Provide technical leadership and guidance in the installation, configuration, and implementation of Liferay’s Java-based technologies.

Work with solution development team leader to clarify requirements, identify risks with an accompanying mitigation strategy and obtain feedback on deliverables.

Demonstrate a deep knowledge of the platform and recommend new features and modifications drawing on experience with past projects.

Deliver projects quickly, cost-effectively, and with the highest quality.

REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCES:

  • Strong experience with Enterprise Java development, Spring, Hinernate, Java, Java servlets and Tomcat
  • Experience working within an agile software development lifecycle with testing, continuous integration, and deployment.
  • Experience with the full project lifecycle, including business requirements gathering, technical specifications, development, testing, and deployment.
  • Experience with multiple databases such as mySQL, Oracle etc.
  • Experience with portal development for Liferay, WebLogic or WebSphere a plus
  • Excellent prioritization, organization, and time management skills and ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to consistently deliver projects and customer value.
